I’ve teamed up with writer Sofia Simanovich and producer @misskim.91 on the gothic horror/romance The Last Lightkeeper. Along with interviews of the team we decided to shoot a small excerpt from the opening of the film, to include in our visuals. I’m also excited to announce that @torontofilmschool has decided to select our project to submit under the Talent to Watch Industry Partner Stream!

February went by in a flash while making another short film for the @canfilmfest @firecrackerdept #igniter challenge

“I Thought it Was a Wishbone” was an absolute blast to make. We listened to Pony on repeat and brainstormed all phallic and yonic looking foods for set dressing. Everyone involved braved the worst snow storm of the season to make this happen, but at least we were indoors and had indoor parking!

Due to a technical error on the festival's part, we were unable to play the short film THE GOOD WORD (Dir. Constance Hilton - 5 mins) at the Funny Frights program on Thursday, but we are happy to announce we are able to include it in our closing night screening gala with SAINT-SACRIFICE (Dir. Jean-Claude Leblanc - 14 mins) & THE LAST VIDEO STORE (Dirs. Cody Kennedy, Tim Rutherford - 83 mins). If you had a ticket to see the short, you can just use your Funny Frights ticket at the door.

‘TIL DEATH DO YOU PART is the project I’ll be bringing to @bitsfilmfest Horror Development Lab

The BITS Horror Lab is a development program focused on facilitating business and production opportunities for genre (horror, sci-fi, action, thriller) scripted projects and shorts films by traditionally underrepresented BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ Canadian filmmakers and content creators. The Horror Lab will support 12 short-form film concepts or web series in development with the intention of moving these concepts into a feature film or a web series project.

This program is less aimed at mentorship and more about access to business development. Accepted participants will meet with top industry professionals during the Blood in the Snow Film Festival from November 20 to 22, 2023. Participants and industry professionals will follow up on projects and initiatives in early 2024. Horror Lab participants will have scheduled workshops with established industry professionals focusing on developing their projects. All participants will also have access to the Deadly Exposure Industry Market during the festival.
